Project: Quayside

While studying at University College London as an Affiliate Management student, I analyzed a case about Quayside, Toronto an up-and-coming “smart city” (learn more here) . I was tasked with creating a solution to the clutter surrounding several technology-controlled aspects of life. My suggestion was to create Quay (pronounced “key”), an app that controlled all sectors of the technology-driven lifestyle of Quayside residents. The app afforded restricted access exclusive to residents, and would control internet service, mortgage and leisure payments, transportation access, home and car keys. I also suggested social media marketing tactics to align with digital transformation of marketing.

Quay App Visualization

I created this graphic to simulate an advertisement or guide to the Quay app affordances. Its simplicity makes the app’s uses easy to understand from any user perspective.

Humans of Quayside

Humans of Quayside

I created this simulated Instagram account, inspired by “Humans of New York”, as a suggestion for advertising, outreach, and consciousness-raising for the new tech-driven Quayside community. Ideally, the shared content would showcase the high-tech nature of residents’ lives, explain their convenience of life, and inspire non-residents to explore and invest in Quayside.
